Excuse my lack of knowledge.
I've never had a credit card, have no debt and no history of non-paying anything etc!
I applied for a Sainsburys Platinum card but had it turned down - they don't say why. Any ideas? I will need to apply for another card but where do I go to now, I want a 0% for as long as possible please.
Thanks

Hi! I'm new here and have barely started to learn about simple money management because I was afraid to ask questions and was just too embarrassed to admit I didn't know basic facts about money, like how a bank
works and how to organize my expenses properly. So I got tired of not knowing when I realized how credit companies specifically find people like me to take advantage of. I didn't know where to go, but searched online and found a money study guide. I don't feel like a complete idiot anymore except that i'm spamming people with this it seems. when it comes to my money I'm not afraid to ask anymore
PS Message me to let me know what you think. :T
Thanks!

So far I haven't another site as tailored for me and I don't feel like a complete idiot anymore when it comes to my money and I'm not afraid to ask when I don't know either.
PS Message me if you take a look at it and let me know what you think.

This is probably why you were turned down. You need to have a good credit record which means having a fair amount of credit history so they can predict what kind of customer you will be. Thus you're unlikely to get a 0% credit card. There are other factors like being of the Electoral register etc. Best thing to do is to get your credit files (theres a sticky with information on how to do this).
Btw the main site and this forum has all the advice you'll need not that link!0 -
I have no credit history but wanted to get one just incase I needed a loan in an emergency or somthing. I had to settle for getting the barcaleycard initial, at 27.9% just do a small spend each month and pay it off in full, leave it 6-9 months then try againWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

A platinum card is for higer earners who have a proven credit history. You're unlikely to get platinum for a few years yet. You need to start off with the regular cards - like wanty said, start off with something simple like Barclaycard or Sainsbury's regualr card and build up yourslef a history...0
