Although she has forgotten that her husband died and says he has run off with another woman! It's really sad after all he did to look after her for years since she became ill, but we know it's the Alzheimer's saying it not her.

This is one of the saddest aspects of this disease. I've heard of a woman screaming that a strange man was trying to get into bed with her - it was her husband of 50 years!!

When my late MIL was in the latter stages of her life my then DH got to a stage where he couldn't bear to visit her in the home where she was. She thought he was her late FIL, his paternal grandfather, and she would revile him in the most colourful gutter language - language no one even thought that she knew!!! There's often a grain of truth in what they say. It all came out, that her FIL had made advances to her when she was a young bride - what we'd now call sexual harassment. We thought it was pure fantasy, but in fact it was confirmed by an auntie who was the same generation as MIL.

So this secret that the family had kept for decades was shouted out for the delectation of all the home residents and staff!!
