Buying a car from Jersey
My husband works in Jersey quite frequently and seems to think that I could buy a vehicle from there for a fraction of the price in the UK.
I've tried to find out what's involved in terms of duty, vat, registration etc, but can't seem to find anything. The vehicle is 2 years old (if that makes any difference).
Does anyone have any ideas where I can find out what is involved?
Many thanks

Beware with cars from Jersey. The clutch will have taken some stick and there may be lots of carbon build-up because of the 40 mph limit on the island. It may never have been in top gear!
Also, bear in mind that cars there rust like hell because of the salt air, although this is not as likely if it's been garaged.0 -

Good point, I purchased one some years back, it took about 12 months before the carbon build up had cleared.
Another point is many cars are ex hire cars, they usually havn't been too well driven/cared for.0 -
