Getting a refund from Office

Bought some wellies from Office today....got them home to find one of them has a tiny hole in, not the kind of thing you want when you want dry feet!

However, on the back of the receipt it says they dont do refunds for unwanted items, only exchange or credit note  These were the last pair they had, so obviously cant exchange, and they didnt have any others in so a credit note is really no good.

Will they give me a refund for them being faulty, or am i stuck with a credit note that wont really be any good?

Im going to take them back tomorrow after work and hopefully get my money back, I just want to go armed with something in case they say no to a refund

It is not unwanted it is faulty.
Go in and receive a refund without any hassle.
  • Office are notoriously difficult with refunds, you will need to be very firm that you are return the wellies because they are faulty. They may try and fob you if with a fashion item argument, but wellies are widely acknowledged to be a waterproof item so stand your ground.

The exchange/credit note is only if you don't want the item, and if the item is faulty, you are completely entitled to a full refund of the purchase price. If they show any kind of objection, stand your ground. Don't go in all guns blazing, because it could well be the case they will give you a refund quickly and politely.

The boots are not of satisfactory quality and therefore the store is in breach of s.14 of the Sale of Goods Act. You are entitled to a refund.
