Argument with a parking attendant

I nipped out to the bookies a while a go and parked my car where I usually do but didn't notice that the front of my car was hanging over the start of the double yellow lines (my own silly mistake a know).
Anyway I came out of the bookies 10 minutes later quite happy as I had won a few quid. As I got out I looked and there was one of those parking attendants that drive around on scooters taking a picture of the front of my car. I asked what he was doing and he said that I was going to get a ticket as part of my car was on the double yellows.
I lost my rag with him a little bit and noticed that his scooter was parked in front of my car so I took out my mobile phone and took a picture of it. When questioned as to what I was doing I explained that if he was going to fine me for part of my car being over double yellow lines then I was going to go to the relevant office at the council and show them that the attendant had parked on double yellow lines to book me and see what they said.
After a further 'heated discussion' he eventually told me to be on my way and if he caught me doing it again then he would book me.
I don't condone arguing but i'm glad I did on this occasion.
Would I have got anywhere if I did complain about the attendant being illegally parked?

They are allowed to park on double yellows in order to carry out their duties.
Which begs the question - if they can park on them safely, without causing an obstruction, why can't we?0 -
lol So I wouldn't have got anywhere then.
This particular attendant is a right little hitler though, he is quite well known for hiding round the corner from the local offlicence and as soon as someone nips in the shop he's out with his camera and ticket book.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -
They all seem to have a sly streak round here too but we found out on Friday the local council have decided not to renew the contract with the company who provide parking services. Probably because no one parks in town anymore and all the shops have closed due to over enthusiastic wardens.0

That'll be Parkwise in Lancashire? And all because they were cocking everything up, and not raking in the money they should have been.0 -
Sorry to be a wet blanket but do not be surprised if you get a pcn through the post. Its not unknown for them to say go and to claim you were a drive off just to stop the arguement.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

At least you didnt swear at the Agent of state control, there was a case, where a bloke had called a warden a fat ugly !!!!!!, because she was fat, ugly, and a !!!!!! for giving the ticket, 2 days late cops turned up and issued a fine.0

I hope not but I will keep a look out for the post, I could always take it out of my winnings if I do get one lol
I made a point of not swearing even though I had to stop what I was saying a few times to think of an alternative word to use. I even used the made up word Knobsnorkle... I haven't got a clue where it came from and I don't know how I managed to keep a straight face after saying itIf At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -
