It's the Co-Operative bank. I've done some searches of the forum here and it doesn't look like there are many tales on here about them.

    Thanks Rich

Yes there have been some but these posts go right back, in fact one of my mates on here, I am sure she was successful with reclaiming from the Co op.;)
Some have had to go as far as the FOS as well, I'm sure you will be fine as well, with the FOS.

I just think you guys are excellent di3004 & having read all the posts for weeks before I put in my claim noticed things like rbos offer goodwill first(always 750) egg always say no to first letter, HBOS never send CCA first time but reconstituted T & C etc & you guys already know this & can give great advice if you know who they are dealing with. I am also following your own claims with the devils from hell & hoping every day I log on for the ' I got my cheque in post or by carrier pidgeon' as is probably everyone you have all helped on here is doing the same & going to throw you all the biggest cyberparty in the world

  • OK, well after being busy for the last few days I've finally managed to fill out the form to send to the Financial Ombudsman. I now want to get it off before any postal strike! (Ironic that I took it out in 2007 during a postal strike and now I'll be complaining about it just before one...)

Just a quick question - I've got copies of the letter I sent them and their reply, should I include my loan agreement?

Actually, two questions. I'm sure I read somewhere that the Ombudsman is snowed under right now. Does anyone know what their turnaround on complaints is? A rough guide is fine, I appreciate there won't be a strict time period, but just wanted a rough idea when I could expect a response.

    Hi Richard

Sorry to have missed you earlier.
If you want to send them the agreement, make sure its a copy you send them and not the original, its optional if you want to send this or not, as they should still hold your details on file.

They are literally over-run with complaints, but have recently taken on new adjudicators.
However, as soon as your case have been moved on to an adjudicator, the the norm is that of approx 6 weeks, that's if straight forward, this will depend if the other party will request for more time to send further information etc, but it could be 6 weeks, or even over a year, say for example the business does not agree with the adjudicators decision, the adjudicator will then pass this on to the ombudsman himself.

Hopefully though, yours will be more or less straight forward, you will do okay, good luck.;)

  • Great news everyone. A lot faster than expected, the Ombudsman wrote to me today to let me know that my bank, despite sticking to their original decision, have agreed to refund me all payments plus 8% interest as a "goodwill" gesture.

Thanks a lot everyone for ALL your help!
