Listing Building, House Grants for roof / windows

hi,

my father and i need our roof replacing and front six windows replacing.
Problem is its a Grade II listed building and its prooving expensive.

does anyone know if i can get a grant or other financial aid.
i work but have own family to support, dads on benefits.
(we cant get cavity wall insulation and loft isnt suitable for insulation and i can only imagine the heat loss is going through the roof!)

thanks for any help.

  • I had my roof replaced.

My Council gave me a discretionary grant (not means tested) of £2000. They then insisted I had cast iron guttering which cost over £2000....

I think the grant had to be less than 10% of the total cost.

I'd suggest you talk with the Conservation Officer at the Council.

    Good luck!
