How to evidence outgoings for SL?

There is a section which asks for evidence of outgoings ie mortgage. I called the loan company and asked what constituted "evidence" but the person I spoke to wasn't sure and suggested I submit a bank statement.

I don't wish to submit a bank statement showing all my transactions, thank you very much! (Nothing to hide, but I simply don't wish for them to know every penny I spend each month - on principle!).

So, for those who are in the same boat, what did you send?

Which form are you filling in? As far as I'm aware, none of the SLC's calculations take outgoings into account?

It's the PDF version from their website and page 19 (section 9 e)

Only complete this section if you are applying for Parents' Learning Allowance, Adult
    Dependant's Grant or Childcare Grant.

    .....

    Give details of financial commitments
you have before the start of the
course which you, your husband, wife
or partner will continue to pay for
you during the academic year .......

e Financial commitments to include would be insurance policies such as
household or medical insurance, life assurance premiums, mortgage
repayments or maintenance payments for a dependant.
Now, I explained to the guy on the phone at SFE that I wasn't claiming "Adult Dependents Grant", nor the "Childcare Grant", only the Parents' Learning Allowance but he said to fill those parts in anyway

You could send them a copy of a bank statement with all transactions blocked out bar your mortgage payment?

Your lender should provide you with an annual mortgage statement, showing payments made over the past year. Give this to the SLC.

Out of interest, are you a lone parent? If you are, outgoings are irrelevent.
