New Bank Account - First direct

Hi all,
Going to be finishing uni soon (after finishing my PhD write up). I have a job lined up that's going to put me in the higher rate tax bracket so will be earning enough to gain the benefits of First Direct's one account. I just wonder, is it worthwhile applying for the account before I move to my new job (stating what my occupation will be and salary on the application), or after starting when I will be at a temporary address etc...? If I applied now, I would just keep £1500 in there to stop the £10/month charge kicking in.
Thanks
