mobile phone coverage in your area...?

Hi everyone

here is a quick question if you can answer i would really appreciate it.

My dad is looking to buy a new mobile phone and was consdiering skype phones. How do you work out whether there is adequate mobile coverage in your area? anyone know? Dad lives at the bottom of a hill, but i've never had problems with my mobile in that area....

skype will need a 3g network connection, which isn't as widespread as the voice/ text signal

Dad's got himself a skype phone.

If anyone uses one and can give us a brief idiot guide run through that would help. We will read through tomorrow but it may be that someone here uses one and can give us a quick guide. Thanks again! :-)
