    Hi
I am wanting to have my front garden turned into a drive so that I am able to put my car in.
My first thought is what to have, block paving, tarmac or what else is there.
I will also need to have the pavement dropped, the garden area is approx 14 x 10, I haven't measured yet.
Any thoughts of how much I will be looking at and does anyone have any good names of anyone that has done theirs.
I live in West Yorkshire (Bradford).

    Thanks
    Jules

A dropped kerb cost us £1000, nearly £900 for the job to be done and £140 to the council for administration fees :) The cost will vary across the country and also will depend on if you have a signpost/lamp/water meters etc on the pavement. Best to phone your council to get a better idea.

I love the idea of turing the dug up soil into a giant potato growing area.
Dropping the curb often seems to be expensive and a hassle. They seem to charge far too much for a job that the paving contractor could do for pennies.

Well, I thought that but when I had mine done a team of three turned up in a huge lorry with hot tarmac cooking device etc. Took them about half a day with chipping out the old kerb, adding in the new etc. When you actually see what they do it feels like better value for money.
