Hi
I bought a dress off e`bay on Sat 26th July, e`mailed the seller yesterday as it hadn`t turned up and got a reply it was posted on 29th July. That was ok it was on its way.
I paid £2.50 for postage - got in from work earlier and a card was on my doorstep advising me there was a parcel to collect from the sorting office but I would have to pay £1.10 to get it as insufficient postage had been paid. Guess what it was the dress. On the packet there are stamps totalling £1.15.
Can anyone advise me what to do, if anything! as I am really cross that I paid £2.50 and have now paid another £1.10 (£3.60). I really want to leave bad feedback. Also it was a dress and it was packaged in a parcel 14cm by 26cm I would have thought at least a jiffy bag.
Everyone else I have bought off from e`bay has been great -fast delivery, well packaged etc.
Thanks

Contact the seller. Ask for a refund of the cost offer to email a copy of the receipt over. It looks like she was 10p off (the £1 was an admin charge from Rm) So it was probably an honest mistake. They do happen
Just send a pleasant email and most sellers will be so apologetic as its quite embarressing when it does happen.0 -
Also tbh it probably wasnt all her fault, if she got it weighed at post office then it was their error also. But no way to prove that!0

I would point this out to the seller and make it clear your not happy. I have had this happen in the past where it turns up with no postage label on (even though all my items go through post office where they stick them on). It may be one of the stamps wasn't stuck on properly or came off in the machine. If someone says this to me then I refund all the money they have paid to Royal Mail and they are usually happy.
If they don't respond or don't at least apologise I would leave a neutral or negative feedback depending on their response. I am not sure there is much else you can do though.
As regards to the packaging as long as it isn't damaged I don't see the problem in how they have sent it. Jiffy bags add to the weight which costs more to send.0 -
you might get it back, but i heard that the p+p costs can cover time taken to post and pack the item as well as the cost of the jiffy bag etc, so she might be able to get away with charging extra
worth fighting though0 -
Hi, I received a reply to my e`mail, the seller said she is really sorry this happened. She usually weighs items thru the post office but this time didn`t just got stamps. She has said she will refund the money as soon as possible. which is good news.
I asked how she was going to refund yesterday but have not had a reply? how do refunds usually happen is it by cheque?
Also don`t want to post my feedback on e`bay till I have the refund - will this go against me?
Many thanks0 -
