Ebuyer not paying for over a week

Hi there
I put some things up on ebay and on all my auctions I put at the bottom payment must be made within 48hours. I sold a bag on the friday evening about 8pm, the winning bidder bidded in last 5mins so I knew they were online at the time of the auction ending. So when it ended I sent them an invoice, by the next morning I hadnt heard anything but I didnt worry at the time. By monday morning, after the 48hours had elapsed, I still hadnt heard anything from her. So I sent her another invoice with a note asking if she was still buying the bag as hadnt had any correspondence. It wasnt till the wednesday I got a message from her saying she gets paid in a week and will pay then. I was really angry at this as it does state in the auction pay within 48hours. If she had sent me a mesage straight away it wouldnt of been so bad, as Id know what was happening. But to wait 5 days before telling me was a bit too much!

What should I do come the wednesday and Iv not recieved any payment? Should I send her another message or report her?

Never had a non payer before so unsure what to do next!!

Thanks!

I would grin and bear it. I normally give 7 days and then send an e-mail asking them to contact me in 24 hours regarding payment and then give another 3 days and if no response then report them.
I know you stated 48 hours on your listing but you should really give them at least a week before reporting them. I am not sure if you can report them before 7 days.
Problem is if you report them and then they pay they will probably give you bad feedback. At least if you give them a week or so they have no-one to blame but themselves.

If it was me I'd wait. If she doesn't pay by Thursday I would open a NPB.

And personally, I'd remove the "payment must be made within 48 hours" from the listings. I usually pay right after winning, but if i see something like that on a listing it really puts me off buying, as buyers have 7 days to pay on Ebay.

Yeah, just as mrcol1000 says. :)

That statement is pointless ebay buyers have 7 days to pay no matter what you put in your listing. After 7 days you can report them for non payment but by the time that starts going through she may have got paid

Your 48 hour statement could also attract some people who will quite happily not pay you until the 7tth day just to annoy you.

I wouldnt be reporting them before the 7days. By wednesday it will be 10days since the auction ended.

ebay allow a buyer 7 days to pay before a seller can do anything so youll have to wait 7 days and then open a NPB and then wait and see if they respond or pay

Start the process at the 7 day mark. You never know the buyer may suddenly find the money a little quicker.

This isn't necessarily the case. They may have gone away and used an auction sniper site to place their bid for them.

There seems to be an influx of NPB lately, i even had a person asking questions then they won the auction and still not paid a week later. I can't be bothered with them anymore, i let ebay say when to file unpaid item and get my fees back, they get a strike and all for 99p or less items :rotfl:

I have experienced a little glut of non payers lately, it is annoying as I only list Buy It Now items. As soon as the NPB process is available then I use it. Unfortunately there are more than a few timewasters out there.

I rarely ever get an NPB but at the moment I have two of them on 8. It wouldn't normally be a problem except that I go away this weekend, so I can't open an nPB before I go as I can't be here on day 8 to close it. So I will have to risk opening the NPB the day before I go and add a note that I will ship on my return.

One of the buyers has 300+ feedback, the other just over 100 but neither appears to be currently active on ebay.
