I guess it's a wait and see approach but it will be interesting to see their response. Is there a reason why you were unable to cover the outgoing with the money going in, ie a drop in income?

That is the argument I would use so I hope they look at that date onwards to refund charges and perhaps suspend some for a period so you can get back into a routine rather than having to cover charges as well as your outgoings.

do you think this will fall under the hardship rules. a couple of years ago when most the charges were gained my now ex husband vanished and i was not working as the children were extremely young and his income was the only income. so i had to go and get a job and pay for child care ect i did get tax credits but it took a few months for it to be sorted and in that time i had no money and bills did not get paid and when i did get my award it still was not enough to cover mortgage bill ect so each month i got further behind and got around £250 a month in bank charges i only earned about £140 a week £240 with tax credits roughly i cant remember the exact.

You are using the credit card, your income has dropped and if you have any priority debt arrears(mortgage.rent, council tax, utilities) then you are in a strong position(which doesn't come across as it is meant to sound, so I hope that makes sense).
