To say I am mad is putting it mildly. I had a bond mature several weeks ago and usually just roll it over for another 2 years. But this time I needed some money out so was just investing slightly less.
Firstly I had to see a financial adviser who did not listen to a word I said and tried to get me to invest in shares - in fact I almost but not quite told him to shut up and listen as he was not paying attention to what I wanted. I told him I wanted a fixed rate bond for 2 years with 4% interest. This I thought was organised and I signed the form. Two days later the money appeared in my current account and I then phoned the bank. A very stroppy girl said it was on her desk she was busy and would do it today. So for a month I have been looking forward to this wee bonus- probably about £50 ish to spend each month. Well you can guess the rest-they put the interest at maturity and not monthly- also I don't pay tax and I think that hasn't been sorted either. Have phoned my local branch manager and she says it will go to head office as a complaint and should get sorted in a week or so.
So what happens now and what do I do? Will I get the month's money I should have got yesterday or will they tell me I signed the form in the bank and I should have read the small print
