Barclaycard - £`1 a month spend to keep 0% ?

Has anyone else been told this ? I applied at the end of March and was given a good limit - however when I called last week to activate the card I was told that I need to spend a £1 every month to keep the 0% ! This wasn't in the T's and C's but read out to me over the phone.

Sorry if this has already been covered elsewhere i did do a search.

Just activated my card and did BT - no mention of the £1 spend?

Which card did you get? I got Platinum and 14.9% apr 10mth 0% BT. Terms and conds are on the letter with the card and seem same as I signed up to?

I think this was on another thread within the last week, can't recall if a solution was found and can't find the thread on a search either - sorry!

Definitely not in my terms and conditions, so they cannot enforce it when I do my balance transfer as they have not written to my notifying me of a change.

i applied on line for the 0% for 10 no bt fee so nothing to go on there but it wasnt mentioned when I activated or conducted btransfer of £3400 against £5400 credit limit
Isnt mentioned in my t & c either.
Maybe staff mmber got a bit confused. did you do a bt at the same time as activation? £1 is (temporarily) held against a pending transaction on your account during the transfer process.

Update - I rang again yesterday and the guy I spoke to said he couldn't find anything about this in my t's and c's for my Platuinum card either. I took his name as a backup if anything funny happens as I don't intend spending anything in the 0 for 10 period.

As you say toonfan vigillance is the thing. The original CSA was extremely insistant that this was correct, and it was OK for her to apply terms and conditions over the phone, which is why I chose to ring back another day to do my transfer. Anyway 5k transferrerd - so I will be watching.

Update
checked online.transfer gone through and other card showing payment made. £1 held against transfer removed. No fee charged - minimum payment due 18 May. Alls well so far
