Cleaning sticker / residue from LCD screen

My brother's baby was round at the weekend and he's managed to stick a sticker on my brand new LCD TV. I've peeled it off but it's left a sticky residue on the screen.
Any suggestions for how to clean this without damaging the panel and smearing it around and making it worse?

Ideally you should avoid chemicals on screens and just stick to plain water but it sounds to me like you need someting called "Sticky Stuff Remover"
This is just the first one in my eBay search not necessarily the cheapest...

I bought two cans for £6 ages ago. It's great for getting label residue off. Be very careful using it on a screen though.0 -
Label Remover from Maplin. Other stuff to try from home is computer screen wipes , baby wipe, white alcohol - ie vodka or a drop of IPA from chemist. Is the LCD tv screen glass or plastic?0

Can't remember where but I read that anything containing alcohol / spirits etc can damage the screen. So I guess I'm looking for a specialist cleaner or something.
Not sure what the screen is made of. I assume plastic as it's quite light.0 -
spit < remember to use sterile water, boil the kettle and as its steaming put a clothe into the steam, afterwards.0
