Monday 3rd August - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

Morning All

Hello to everyone else who posts today. Hugs to those that need them

Booo Monday

Today I have/will:
• Checked online banking
• Meals from storecupboards
• Enter comps online
• Have a LSD – apart from a bus pass to travel to work
• Look on the internet for jobs in the local area
• Work really hard at work – will probably do overtime as we are still mega busy (and understaffed)
• When I eventually get home look at my CV and jazz it up a bit (obviously not lying though)
nag me if it on tomorrow’s list!
• Start writing an interview pack – comments on how I can sell myself, questions to ask etc
nag me if this is also on tomorrow’s list
• While I am on the internet catch up on yesterday’s forum
• Charge my phone up at work
• Get last week’s timesheet signed and faxed over

Think that is about it…..have a great day everyone

  • Morning all from sunny Fife - down to go to aberdeen for various meetings to do with dyslexia and for a scary 'assessment of needs'.

Two hokey cokey's done so far and on the line
Paint brushes and all things found in OH's house and looked out for a painting frenzy this week
Got a tin of Half price paint for his door - so what if its 'white with a hint of blue' - don't suppose he's noticed it will be painted never mind the 'slight blue tinge'
Alos got sofa covers striped off - did two chair yesterday and now for the sofa covers - he was going to get them 'dry cleaned' - miind you they haven't been washed since I moved out (3years ago!!!) so there is enough crumbs and food on them to feed a small country
Off to aberdeen later - fill car with cheap petrol and get some points in Dundee
Tea with a friend - will take some nice flowers from the garden for her
Walk dogs on beach and might catch up with anohter chum on the way to combine petrol
Started my store cupboard shopping for home - star drops, furniture polish and 12 bags of pasta so far - didn't take my list yesterday so doing it all by memory - bad move - must find list today :)
    Checked banks
Must phone WTFC as they seem to have changed my money - must find out why
    Keep expense receipts for trip
Phoned kids from OH phone (naughty!!)
Done some batch cooking for him
Bought him so mr sainsbugs stripey fabric softener and put it into the posh Lenor bottle (:))

Must crack on waves to all and hope to all goes well - Candy just write an optimistic list of your good points and see how to incorporate them into your CV - google good interview questions online and you will get some great ones.

MC sure it will be OK :)

Jumps up and down in PJ's and shouts hello to SM and Miss P, hope the filing goes OK and Miss P - enjoy the cake thingmy - BUT - ironing????????????????Havent we talked about this before????
    tee hee

    Morning all:j
That's us back from Ibiza - had a lovely time, weather was glorious and the food and drink went down very well;)
Back to normal now, but thankfully I'm on my summer hols so another 4 weeks before back to school/work:p

My girls have been taken out swimming with my friend and her 2 girlies, so I'm off to Tesco as my fridge is empty and cupboards a bit sad looking. I have a list and have done a meal plan, back to being organised!

    Here's my list:
    • check banking
    • daily scratchy
    • sopping armed with lit
    • go to PO to change back the 40euros I brought back, DD1 brought back 20 and DD2 has 5....quite pleased with that;)
    • washing hokey cokey....lots of it
    • attepmt to tidy the house....where to start though?!
    • finish filling in student loan deferral form
    • find stuff for student finance - they wont loan me tuition fees for my course in Sept though
    • email my dad to ask him if he'll still pay said tuition fees...he offered:D
Ok, think that's it for now - busy day though so better get moving.
Back to reality with a bump, no lying about reading my book all day this week.....:rotfl:
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Morning all! Good to hear you had a fab holiday Milly!

Had a little bit of good fortune today - someone in work mentioned that I may be due a tax refund as I'm giving up work half way through the year and I called the Tax Office (they're not as bad as I thought!) and they're going to give me at least £1100 back!!!! :j:j:j

Also, got sent an email from Tesco Direct featuring a laptop - need a new laptop for the course and this was a bargain - checked the spec was ok with our nice IT man in work for what I need it to do and he said he'd sneak on some "free" software for me when it comes. So laptop ordered and coming tomorrow.

Anyway, back to the small things...
    • Brekkie at home
    • Leftovers brought to work for lunch
    • Storecupboard tea
    • Pick blackberries while walking dog to use in a pud
    • Walk said dog for free exercise
    • Put washing away and do another load
    • Stay in and watch the soaps
    • Checked banks - as expected
    • Checked quidco
    • Do any surveys that come in
    • Phone mum to see if she wants me to do an internet shopping food order for when she gets out of hospital after her operation later this week
    • Clean bathrooms
    • Find form to send car back
    • Update wedding lists
    • Have a quick look at sports facilities (swimming pool) at uni and see how much it costs
That's it for today - have a good one!
