Savings Advice 3.5K

Hi,

I have managed to save £3300 of my student loan, although I am annoyed with myself that I had to use the rest due to personal circumstances - I was paying off my debt with it when I was not working. I am now with the CCCS who are helping to sort out my creditors. Should I use this morning to pay off my creditors. I owe about 13k or put it in an ISA or other savings account.

What is the rate of interest on your borrowings? If it's higher than 5% then you are probably better off clearing your debts if you can do that without incurring penalties for early repayment.
  • Student loans are at about 3% at the moment. I'm clearing mine off as fast as possible because I hate carrying debt, even if the interest rate is low.
