@Fran,
Try a repair on the network connection of the laptop or re-run the Network setup Wizard and reboot.

Try typing \\ComputerName (where ComputerName is the name of the other computer) in the address bar of Windows Explorer.
You can find the computer name by right-clicking My Computer, clicking Properties and looking on the Computer Name tab.0 -
Morning all, me again :wall:
Still no joy with the wireless thing, I'm sure it's just a few clicks away.
I have WEP encrytion set on my router instead of WAP (or whatever) so hopefully neighbours won't get my files.
Tried allsorts of ways last night and no joy with laptop even finding the printer. I've treid switching off the firewall..nothing! :doh:
To be honest, I'm not so bothereed about the file sharing as I'll just put the ones I need from PC onto disc and pop them on laptop, its the printer I want to connect more than anything.
I'll try the other suggestions now, posted since I last looked last night.
Thanks
(PS ...TOG ...Gooners did well last night, :footie: hope your head is ok, _pale_ )0 -
Don't give up! We all have had to learn the hard way as you are doing now. Don't forget to re-boot after running any network connection wizards. Firewalls can be a major problem so if you have any 3rd party ones (esp McAfee) deactivate them first. Also, consider removing everything and starting a clean install from scratch if you can.
And finally ... BT routers are made by control freaks so you may find that your Voyager is the problem. Just checked this forum link - they say hardwire connect the router (via LAN) to the laptop as per the PC which has the printer connected, check it works then remove the LAN connection and allow the wifi to connect up to your network again. Good luck. The sense of achievement is worth the hassle, I promise.0
