Did a drive-thru job that went wrong yesterday. At the collection window, the lad handed me my drink and asked if I needed a receipt. I said yes, so he disppeared off for ages and came back with a tatty bit of paper torn from an envelope that he'd scribbled my order onto. He apologised and said the printer was broken. Then he fetched my food. This meant my timings were way out.
Got an email this morning saying my services are no longer required for burger jobs. What a surprise
The stupid thing is, they begged me for ages to do a one on Friday morning that nobody has picked up and I finally gave in yesterday afternoon. It's a breakfast on a retail park where the shops don't open until 10am, and it's not a passing trade sort of location so nobody ever wants to do it. I've had that taken off meHere I go again on my own....0 -
I'm really sorry to hear what happened Pinkprincess. Thankfully I haven't had that experience (touch wood) but I can imagine how it must feel to know that someone has been in your house going through your stuff.

I can't believe they do that. Surely if you mentioned the situation in the other comments box, they would take the situation into account with regards the timings.0 -
pinkprincess, that is just too awful! These b*****ds are just so opportunistic. I got pickpocketed on a bus a few months ago and the hassle on getting everything sorted is just so awful. Here's a hug!0

Yes, it is fine. Sometimes they request you to ring just so that they could clarify which shop is at which location. This is especially when there are two shops really close together.0 -

It can also be when there is a particular issue or if shops have been previously cancelled - at least this is what they told me a few weeks ago.
The wonderful thing (sic) about RE is that if you get one of these jobs on a Friday PM then cannot get through to anyone on Saturday morning (ie if you have a life- not sure they pick up anyway), the job will have been taken off you by Monday morning under the 48hr rule - plus they take 2 points off you at the same time - so count yourself lucky that you picked it up on a Monday - Thursday. (trying not to be too bitter and twisted about a job I lost this week).

By the way, if anyone feels like having a go at something more frustrating that dealing with the RE website when it is playing up (to be fair it is pretty good recently) try booking tickets for the Christmas Grotto at Harrods (see the grabbit board for more info).0

Yes, this happened to me with a sport job for RE, gor assignment on Fri eve and couldn't speak to anyone till Monday to set date, and hey presto woke up yesterday morning to find I had lost the job and been deducted 2 points  :mad: However, after a phone call to very nice lady at RE she reinstated my two pointsand said she had just spent the last 3 hours trying to sort out the problems caused by "some clever person" loading the jobs on a Friday evening  Won't make that mistake again!!!
