  • Oh dear, I've just done a torso shop and the lady who served me used to go to high school with me. Now I left high school 15 or so years ago, but she still recognised me and chatted about whether I still see anyone, if I was married/had kids etc.

Now she obviously doesn't know what I was doing there, but still she knew me and tailored the conversation round it. Do I need to disclose that in the report/to RE? Does it mean the assignment would need to be re-done by some else, or is it alright?

Anyone had any experiance of this?

Just got back from a Gap job but see their website is still down so can't input the report. If it's not back up by this evening, what should I do?

Theres not really a lot you can do, you're not allowed to call them. Just wait it out. Their website goes down quite a lot but I can't remember it being for long periods of time before so you should be ok. They're bound to know theres a problem with it.

Brought up the form for this, but it said you can pay voluntary contributions which I am thinking about doing. Does anyone know whether, if paying voluntarily, you still have to pay the £2.40 per week? I do want to pay contributions so that it will benefit me in years to come, but if I would still have to pay the £2.40, I may as well not apply for the exemption and register as normal. Thank you in advance.

I'm assuming you're not paying NI through an employed job? If so, it can be wise not to apply for exemption and pay the £2.40 a week. This will count towards your pension and will make you eligble to claim benefits like maternity and incapacity should you need them in the future.
Here I go again on my own....

I've had this hapen to me before, and the person did know what I do and even asked me straight out if I was there to do an MS! Of course I denied it.
I explained this in my report but was able to meet all the criteria by witnessing how other customers were being served. I hadn't known before I went this person worked there so it wasn't my fault. It wasn't queried and I was paid with no problems.

Random question. I completed my first job for BARE at the weekend and just wondered if anyone knows when it will be graded? I'm curious (and a little impatient) to see where I can improve my report writing! Ta

Random answer - when they get round to it....! some of mine have been graded within hours, but others have taken weeks! There isn't a definitive answer I'm afraid...
  • I had to MS a government building yesterday, and just as I was about to be greeted at the podium, I realised I recognised the guy!

I literally turned straight on my heel, and walked out of the office. Definitely would not have got away with pretending to be a single parent starting a new job!!
  • Just for info Gap called and they said they are having a few problems with their website and it should be up after 6pm tonight. They also asked if I could wait until then to fill in any jobs.

  • Gap also called me and apologised for paying ridiculously low fees, having repetitive questionnaires and also apologised for having a stupid search function on their website.
