Hi, I've recently joined a couple of MS sites and want to keep all my paperwork in order for the tax man. Can I ask how anyone works out the income they have made? I know there is a guide on the front of this thread which I am really grateful for but I think I'm confused about when you go somewhere and buy something e.g food, drink, clothes and then are re-imbursed a set amount - how does anyone work out what they've earned?
I'm sorry if its simply earnings = (just) fee paid but I just want to make sure I get this right from the start.CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Download ukmonkeys spreadsheet, its on the first page of this thread & has recently been posted again yesterday, check back for it. Its a very good spreadsheet & works out your profit & loss for each visit & how much (if any) you should pay that dirty tax man!

Bit of a dilemma. Would love some advice please!
Gyp called me on Saturday and asked me to do a really out of the way take away for them which they are never able to allocate as its off a motorway. I said I'd do it but I wanted a bit of incentive.
They said they'd give me some pizza home delivery jobs but that I needed to pass the test first. They then said they'd call me in a day or two to allocate it to me and a few supermarkets as well. I have read all the bumf on passing the pizza test but it doesn't let me go into the test to complete it. I have managed to get into the supermarket one and have passed that with no probs.
I have emailed Gyp and told them but have had no response.
The take away joint job is tomorrow at lunch and I have a mind to cancel it as it's very out of the way, will take an hour and a half all in and not to mention the petrol and honestly the fee does not cover it.
What does anyone else suggest? I know I can't ring them because I will then be sacked as calling is a sackable offence. :rolleyes:0 -
Hi,
The only info you need to submit will be from March to April 5th, you've been set up in Self Assessment for the 08/09 year. I dont know if you have any other employment so you'll basically be assessing the whole of the tax year from April 6 08 to April 5 09.
If you have any payments to make they need to be paid by 31 Jan 10 at the very latest.
If you complete online then you do actually have until Jan 31st to complete but if i'm honest i would do it asap as the system is notoriously bad for crashing around the deadline time. The Oct deadline is for those people that complete their tax returns by paper and want the tax office to calculate their tax for them, if you complete online it calculates your tax as you go.
Re completion, you just add all your MS work together and add onto the self employment section as 1 amount.
Any probs PM me, I'm well qualified to advise for tax purposes (I work for them).
Kelly
So does this mean I just need to enter the 6 jobs I did between the 24th March (when I starting MSing) and the 5th April 2009?? Do I include the jobs I actually did on the 5th April or do they go in next years? Sorry i'm a complete numpty when it comes to tax! I just know it has to be paid:mad::rotfl:
And anthing I've done from 6th April onwards does not have to be accounted for until October 2010?

Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who voted for Charlotte in the Huggies comp. She's one of the winners and is going to be in an advertising campaign for them. She has to go to a PR meeting later this month to discuss it.
