Your faith may have been restored but releasing jobs like that destroys any faith the MS companies have in their shoppers.

There are always going to be genuine reasons why jobs must be released but I don't consider finding better paid jobs elsewhere to be one of them.

When you agree to do a job for whatever fee is offered then I think you have a moral obligation to ensure the job is completed.

Whilst I do agree with you I also think they do take the michael when offering such low paid fees for there jobs. What quality of reports do they really expect for £3......

Also, wouldn't you rather I release jobs rather than hoard them all to myself. Share the wealth? Its not as if I'm in a remote location where there is only 1 or 2 shoppers?

I did have a funny experience MSing a GypBurger place a few weeks ago. It's one where they have the screen that you stop at to place your order, and they talk to you over the intercom thingy.

We, I pulled up, and they took aaaages to speak. I placed my order, she asked if that was everything, I said yes. She asked if I wanted a receipt, which they NEVER EVER do! I said that I did. As I was pulling away, I noticed it said something about GAPBuster on the screen.

So, I pulled up at the first window to pay, and ask "It said something on the screen about GAPBuster, what does that mean?" she said "Oh, it's just something for them down there (pointing to the next window).

So, I pulled to the next window, got my stuff and my receipt.

Total service time? Around 25 seconds iirc.

I then went home and cancelled the job! Ok, so I've had to pay for a burger myself, but I get far more value from the thought of them thinking they've been so smart as to record my VRN, and they've done so well in getting what was probably a record service time, only for them to get visited again, by another shopper who they may or may not recognise (even if they do, they'll be convinced he's not MSing them)!!!!

To be fair, I cancelled it also because I don't want booting off the client for them recognising me etc, so figured I'd not do that particular "restaurant" for a few months.

    Am I bad?

Do you know which chain it is? If so, and you know which MS company shop them, ring them up, as they're usually desperate to get someone to do the airside ones.

I'm not after any shop in particular - I'm just looking for some free breakfast/lunch :rotfl: I might give a couple of co's a ring though on the offchance they need any doing.

I need to stay off that damn RE site today - I spent so much time on there yesterday that I dreamed about it all night long

Oh my god! What a story!

Firstly, no I don't think you're bad for cancelling the job - the whole point of mystery shopping is that it's a mystery and I for one have a HUGE problem with burger jobs being so UNMYSTERIOUS. I think it might even be worth us mass-mailing Gap using your story as an example of how their scenarios should differ more, and perhaps another way to verify your visit rather than a receipt... if pubs on RE can verify your visit without a receipt, surely the burger place can too!

Haha! That's hilarious!! I haven't had the guts to do a burger shop yet, but I do get great joy in asking for a receipt at my local one. They go all crazy polite and I get hot food for once!!

I do agree that they are taking the Michael with such low fees. However it is better not to take them at all if you are not prepared to do the job for that fee. Releasing them like that just gives the companies more excuses to exploit mystery shoppers.

When jobs are released at the last minute the shoppers who may have been in the area will have probably already left and will be annoyed when they return home and find a released job at the place they have already been that day.

Not a good dream. I dreamt that Tom Cruise was madly in love with me. Much better dream! :D
