Redundancy payment on contract question

Hi All

There is a high chance the missus is going to be made redundant after the company she works for was taken over. Now, shes been with this company 14 years and she swears that on her original contract it set the terms of redundancy and she rekons, based on others who started around the same time as her, it says a month per year. The problem is, she cannot find a copy of this contract, nor is she ware if it was changed durring the last 14 years as she did go from full time to 19.5hrs a week about 8 years ago. All we can find then is a email agreement accepting the new salary and hours, nothing about accepting new contract terms apart from these changes.

Anyway - should she ask for a copy of the latest signed contract that inlcudes reference and details of redundancy details or can she ask for, that is when she is told shes being made redundant a copy of all the contract forms in her personal files so she does not get the wool pulled over her eyes.

Shes a bit reluctant to start rocking the boat just in case she is not being made redundant but she needs to be prepared in the event of.

Many Thanks

Scott
