open with program??

I've just started using IE again after being on firefox for ages and every time i access this site I get the open with window and despite ticking the box to always use the box still comes up the next time ---whats wrong??

I presume you have uninstalled firefox and now Internet Explorer is still not recognised as the default browser. Do you have the most recent version of Internet Explorer? There is a new version 7 beta you can download from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx which is good. If you download this, hopefully all your settings will change to reflect this as the default browser. Hope this helps.

out of interest why did you stop using firefox? I cant imagine what IE has the firefox has not got!

Firefox seemed to have got very slow lately and my pc is clean so i thought i'd have a change and do a small comparision--IE is definitely snappier!
But it still wont remember to open with the same program no matter how many times i tick the box-I must have screwed up something

OK, try this one:
On your desktop, you have an icon called MY COMPUTER - double click it.
Click TOOLS - FOLDER OPTIONS
Click the tab FILE TYPES
In the white box, scroll down until you see HTM & HTML
These should both have Internet Explorer Icons next to them.
If not, click on the CHANGE button below and select Internet Explorer.
Make sure you have a tick in the box below which says "Always use the selected program...."

It was a mime type issue caused by a spring clean of old programs and files!resetting the internet options to default fixed the problem.
Gone back to firefox now :j
