My friend just got a £330k new build for £265k. They got such a bargain because the builder wanted to sell the house before the end of their financial year.0

I got my new build flat (March Completion) for 85% of the asking price. The asking price when I offered in November was 75% of the price they were asking in August. Depending on the local conditions, and how many plots are left on the development I would guess you could probably pick it up for 180K I don't know though its a complete guess and there are probably more qualified people to suggest a price.0

wow, there are some bargains to be had. Might offer 160k and test the water, they have a quite a few propertys for sale.
Just hard buying a house without seeing it built first.0 -
You didn't say it was 'off plan' in the OP.
Be very careful as there have been a number of cases here of people putting up money on an 'off plan' basis and then finding the the developer in no hurry, or indeed no financial position, to complete the build.0 -
Ive seen a model of the houses so I assume it is on plan and it will be up in 6 weeks.
The dilemma is bigger house in a not so nice area, or smaller house in a nicer area, value for money.
Thanks everyone for your prompt replies0 -

In your position I wouldn't do anything until the place is actually built and ready to live in or at least ready to have bathroom and kitchen specified.
You can't live in a model;):D.0 -

'Off Plan' means you only have a plan (and sometimes a model:rolleyes:) to look at.0
