Just noticed the large yellow gantry frames carrying the average speed cameras have been erected at the Newport M4 exit on junction 25A, just before the Brynglas Tunnels heading Westbound.

They are part of the new network of cameras being installed around Newport on the M4 which has fairly recently introduced a 50mph limit. (Although it is not well signed - and most of the time traffic crawls along at 5mph anyway).

ive been through average speed camera areas recently, ive got an average speed counter on my dashboard, its very handy when you get stuck behind a lorry doing 40, you know how much you can do to get past it while keeping your average speed under the posted limit, it also means from what ive seen people take more chances at roundabouts, traffic lights and junctions in these areas, it only measures your average speed, not how good your driving is.
