There's quite a few and they all seem to ask us to download them, so.. which is best? Looking for ease of use, basically. Don't need too many features just want to see how many units I can realistically fit in our space.
Have an unusual space so need to be able to put in dimensions and things
Many thanks

Try the Ikea one. We used it when we did our kitchen and I found it very simple to use. I liked the way it would show you the 3d plans of it too. It also doesn't allow you to fit units where opening the door etc would cause a problem.0

Hi Kavanne
You can't get proper kitchen planning software as a free download and really to use a proper system it takes years of practice. Really if you have an unusual space you would be much better of speaking to a local independent kitchen specialist who should really do a much better job of it than a non professional.
Good luck.0 -

Tut tut CK, your answer should have been:
The best kitchen planning software is Compusoft Winner, which will set you back around £3k for a single user license.
Then you have Planit Fusion, which retails for around £4k and then 20/20 which costs £2.5k. Or if you want to use a slightly less expensive product, then you can get Articad or Virtual worlds for around £1500...
OP did you mean what is the best FREE kitchen planning software? If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I did give you a link to a list of predominantly free ones or low priced ones through that google search and asked you which one should I pick? What more do you want?Kavanne

I don't think his advertising, just giving you advice. Go to wickes who offer a free design service so it gets ideas going.0

In answer to your actually question- I found the ikea one good too. Like you we are on a limited budget and doing it oursleves so didn't want to waste the time of a designer. I started planning when I started saving and have gone through so many changes as we've gone along I'm glad I've taken my time (months and months) to live with the space and think about how we use it and want it to be.
I'm sure a design could have told me all this in a week but who knows and I wouldn't have had time to reflect, change my mind and get what i want from my budget. And no pressure either.People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Now that isn't very nice at all. How is CK advertising? Has he told you to go see him to get a plan? NO! Has he even mentioned the name of his company? NO!
He was just offering advice, which, TBQH, is spot on. Yes, it's true anyone can "drop boxes" onto a free kitchen planne, but just because it LOOKS like it fits, doesn't always mean it does and likewise, it doesn't mean it will conform to current regulations. The reason you go get an EXPERT to plan your kitchen is so that you don't make any errors that could end up costing you more money, or even burning your house down...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
