HI there,
I wonder if British Banks offer IBAN? I'm with Halifax, NatWest and Nationwide at the moment. (IBAN stands for "International Bank Account Number")

Nationwide do, according to their website. Just enter "IBAN" in their search.

It's on the top of your statement is it not?
Well look at the Natwest one anyway don't know about the other two.0 -
I just checked my Halifax statement for you and its at the top0

Even if it's not on a statement, The bank should offer it upon request ( remember doing that with Lloyds a few years ago)0

All UK banks do have IBAN numbers. IBAN is just a combination of
abbriviation of your bank name, eg Hallifax (GB18HLFX)
your sort code, eg 20-05-06
your account number, eg 00 16 28 31
eg GB18HLFX20050600162831
I am not sure where you can get an abbriviation of your bank. This site looks promising but I could not get much out of it.

Nationwide have been doing it for a while. It appears on the top of the bank statements0

Don't mean to have a go at the OP, but am I the only person who wondered whether it would have been simpler for him/her to either:
- Look on his statements
- Go on his bank's website
- Ring up his bank
Rather than come and post the question on here?
Maybe it's just me getting crabby in my old age...

Yes all banks do it. Alliance & Leicester have the number at the bottom of their online statements.
Be warned that most banks will charge you around £10 for making an IBAN transfer (don't know about receiving one), which is annoying because it costs less than £1 to do it from a bank account in the Eurozone.0 -
