Quick question - does FP work at the weekend?

If Halifax send FPS then yes.

FPS is 24/7. Well with HSBC -> Lloyds it is.

Yes it does, just done one from Halifax to HSBC and it was there by time I logged into HSBC!

I did an HSBC to Halifax today and it was there immediately.

I did a faster payment from Halifax to Abbey in seconds this morning, collecting my free £5's.

On that subject, and sorry for going off topic, I'm thinking of changing my strategy on this. Am I right in thinking that you make all your moves in the same day...and still receive your free fivers?

It appears that at this time of the month, everyone is transferring £1000 either to or from a Halifax account!! :rotfl:

One of my accounts never has an overnight balance - mostly I credit by cash and then FP it away 2 mins later

Whilst they say 24/7 from later on Saturday afternoon/evening until Sunday morning will likely be the main time there may be some delays in it due to the ways banks and their infrastructure works. But to most it won't be noticeable.
