Broken Phone Socket in Flat

Hi everyone!
One of the phone sockets in my flat was broken when we moved in. The socket is part of a panel which features the phone, 2 satellite connections, TV and radio. It is broken in the sense that the actual socket for the phone behind the panel has been bent upwards and so it is not possible to plug a phone in.
Upon informing my letting agent of the damage, he requested I took a look myself to check whether I could fix it - I couldn't.
He then said that when an Openreach engineer came round to reactivate the line, he should fix it. I showed it to the engineer and he said that as it was a non-standard socket (ie it also had all the TV connections) he could not touch it, and suggested I got in touch with the builders of the property.
Therefore we contacted the management company, however they said that anything inside the flats was not their responsibility.
Could anyone advise me on who I should contact to get it fixed?
Thankyou in advance!

I'd go back to the letting agent. If it's a rented property, it's their problem (in conjunction with the landlord).Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

Letting agent.
I assume that the phone socket and the others are inserts into a front plate, in which case, fixing it with correct tools is a 10 minute job, but the hard part is sourcing the correct component.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Sounds like you're describing a multi-service wall plate like THIS.
Might need someone with good DIY skills to fit it though.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Try this and scroll to multiservice wall plate - Heinz's link is to a page with a cookie on Heinz's computer. If you get that component, the next item down indicates to me that you stand a fair chance of swapping out just the phone socket.Sounds like you're describing a multi-service wall plate like THIS.
