Hi
I am having problems downloading music onto my phone from my PC, and have been told to:
"run the Windows Registry Cleaner"
and
"Run the Get Connected wizard to connect your phone to the PC"
Could someone tell me where these are please? The Get Connected wizard doesn't come up automatically, and I can't see the Registry Cleaner anywhere!
Thanks very much

What's the make of your phone?
Use CCleaner to do your registry
Andrew Rimmer 2009If you think it will take more than 3 hours to fix a software problem it is probably quicker to reinstall windows. 30 mins to install windows, 2½ hours to reinstall all your nice software0 -
I'm not sure I see how running a registry cleaner might help when transferring music from PC to phone. Who gave you that advice?Stompa0

Nokia Support told me to. It's a Nokia phone, it's a 'Comes With Music' one, so I am supposed to download music from their website to my phone, but it won't recognise that it is connected by the USB cable, so amongst a lot of other things that haven't worked
, they suggested I uninstall everything that is Nokia... do these two things and then reinstall it! SW: Wk1 (5) Wk2 (2.5) Wk3 - Wk 4 (4) Wk 5 - (1.5) Wk 6 (1) Total off 1 stone!:j0 -
put the cable into the phone first then the computer. Make sure you then select nokia pc suite on the phone, if that works you can use the music app that comes with nokia pc suite

Ah OK. Sounds like they may not be confident that their uninstall really does remove everything!Nokia Support told me to. I assume you have a problem similar to the one discussed here:

Yes kind of
Although it had never worked and I am on Vista and the phone is a 5800 Comes with Music, but whatever I do the phone is not recognised. I can go into My Computer and cut and paste files into the phone that way (so the USB is connected really), but because the phone is not recognised as being connected with I go into the Comes With Music Website, I cannot download any of their music. It just keeps on telling me to connect. Have tried installing, uninstalling, updating... the list goes on!!!
Tried all sorts! Still not working.
I'm currently working throught the most recent instructions but I don't understand how I:
"run the Windows Registry Cleaner"
and
"Run the Get Connected wizard to connect your phone to the PC"

FWIW Nokia seem to have their own cleaner here:
http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/nokia-pc-suites/how-to/nokia-pc-suite-cleaner
though you'd need to check that it's the correct software for your particular setup. Of course, I could be barking up entirely the wrong tree!Stompa0
