My last bit of advice (because my knowledge is vague and possibly wrong) is come back during the week and ask again. There are a couple of very knowledgable souls on this board (such as RAS and 10past) who seem to know a lot more about the legal side of stuff and they are probably not around much at the weekends... Come back and try and catch the attention of someone else and see what they have to say....
As I said before-
Good Luck
(and possibly- don't be a silly boy any more and ignore it- as it might make things worse, rather than better

We have all been stupid with money... and hopefully you will have learnt a valuable lesson at the end of it.
That's half my issue, i don't know my debt levels..
With regard to the SOA it's not a good time to do it as i've been at home with the parents and my outgoings will go up dramtically when I leave...
I'm certainly not going to obtain a credit report on this address if there could be allegations of fraudulent behaviour so that too will have to wait til september...
I'm coming round to the idea I may have to see this through but I'll do it on my own adddress:o0 -
You can at least start writing down what you spend when you spend it, so you can see where the money goes. This will give you a better idea of what the cost of things is, and you can start looking for the best deals on food, clothing, insurance, phone services etc etc. If any of your debts were incurred whilst residing at your parents' place then there would have been letters sent there, and I am sure your parents would have passed them on to you.One life - your life - live it!0

Don't worry about that- things aren't linked to addresses any more- they are linked to people. So your parents address wouldn't be 'blacklisted' or anything like that. That doesn't exist anymore.silly_boy_09 wrote: »I'm coming round to the idea I may have to see this through but I'll do it on my own adddress:o
But it is a good idea to know how much everything is going to cost you. After all- you are not going to be able to get any credit from anybody. You gotta be sure you can afford the everyday stuff- like food and bills.0 -

due to a new job and not having normal outgoings the last six months it wouldn't really be a true representation though having lived in the £5-7 ph bracket for the last 3 years post racking up debts i'm usually pretty good at best deals etc etc
rmuch better to do it when back in normal circumstances and running my own household, ie me an my flat, with outgoungs established...no?
sorry if I appear awkward, i'm just thinking aloud0 -
Do you really want to sort this all out or do you just think you ought to? That's not really clear from your posts as you seem to be looking for someone to affirm your stalling techniques.
You are dragging your parents into this by not being listed on the council tax or registered to vote as it is the head of household's responsibility to comply with the law and complete the forms honestly. Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

I'm thinking aloud though bearing in mind this thread i will propbably try an sort it out but would rather do so from the comfort of my own (rented) flat, whilst living independantly as I am used to doing.0 -

It's seems like a bad move to take on a tenancy and all the associated bills when you have no idea of the magnitude of your debts.
It may be better to remain where you are or move into a shared house or flat. It's quite possible you have CCJs, and these never really become statute barred as even after six years the creditor can return to court and have the CCJ updated. Getting used to a certain standard of living is what gets all of us into a mess in the first place, and we have to alter our expectations in order to make a future for ourselves. It doesn't really seem that you have had your lightbullb moment as yet. Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

I appreciate your reasoning, re the tenancy. However, after living away from home since 18 i don't intend a 6 month pit stop to turn into permanent one at near 30. A one bedroom flat isn't too much to ask!
I've had no idea of the magnitude of my debt for years and just to be clear since 06 i've lived within my means, no problem with that these days. I'm even starting a new course, with tution fees. What's past debt to hold u back?:rotfl:
Especialy so as once engaged in the process of sorting it any decisions will be made based on my current circumstances. Besides, if there is to be court issues they'll have to take my essential outgoings i.e. rent, council tax, bills into account...
ps, if u got kids don't let em study politics, makes em right argumentative
