I have completed today and it was no trouble at all. As we were moving into rented accommodation we moved out over last weekend to give ourselves plenty of time and so there was less pressure on the day. Got a call from my solicitor today at about 11am to say she had received the money and completed everything, that the estate agent had been told to give the keys to my buyer and she was paying off the mortgage.
A bit of frantic phoning around utility companies etc.. but it's really a bit of an anti-climax now!! No reason not to get back to work.
I think once you have exchanged you would be very unlucky if anything went wrong. Just a last push on the packing and this time next week it will be all over
Good luck with the move.

When we sold recently the first time buyer at beginning fo chain decided to cancel their mortgage after exchnage! It wasn't ready on the day we completed but he didn't tell anyone till about 10 am! Hence we did not complete on the day. Everyone unpacked the vans till we finally completed 10 days later. BTW it cost him a lot of money in compensation to everyone in the chain...0

We complete on Friday too... although I have just been told by my doom and gloom solicitor that "we are in the hands of the bank" and she implied that if the funds don't transfer in time on Friday, then completion won't happen until Monday
If this happens I am going to cry!!!0 -
Its always best not to complete on a friday for this reason.
My solicitors (had two) and my vendors solicitor requested the funds from the bank to be made available the day before completion so there were no hiccups on the day and completion went through at 10am. Last time round it was 3pm - A long day
