IGT Why ?

I know all other energy companys except BG charge customers more for IGT's but one thing I have never been able to find out in my work is why do people have these?

Are the not registered under the gas networks ?

No charge for IGT's with SSE (except a few fixed price tariffs) or Ebico either :)
EDF only charge their gas only customers.

Why do people have them? Well one reason is that they offer super cheap installation charges to builders ... and then recover it by surcharging consumers.

It think it depends on the contracts signed between the suppliers and the igt's. If the supplier does not have an agreement with the igt then no one on that network can join said supplier.
Depending on the contracts will depend how much of the difference in cost between igt's and national grid the suppliers pass on and how much they absorb.

No, if they are connected to an independent pipeline such as GTC, SEPL they are the shipper and they can't change this.

    Hi guys,

Just to clarify E.ON do apply IGT charges to bills, the Track and Save tariff is exempt from this charge however.
