Trouble with LTSB / MHA / BLS Collections

I'm looking for a bit of knowledgeable help regarding causing trouble.
Short version;
Wife attempted suicide over debts.
Informed LTSB and removed my permission to use my phone number in Dec 2008
Offered them £10 per month token payments
Got account frozen but no other response whatsoever.
Recieved letter from Saatchi, clark & Mitchell solicitors (LTSB in drag)
Replied to, no reply
Recieved letter from MHA collections (LTSB in drag)
Replied to, no reply
Recieved PHONE CALLS from BLS Collections (LTSB in drag)
Recieved letter from BLS collections 3 days later warning of impending phone callls and possible personal visit.
Now then. I'm getting pretty sick of this. If it had been my wife dealing with this then it's quite simple, she'd be dead by now.
As it is I fully intend to have some fun................
They've broken the DPA by using my personal information without consent.
They have no way around that, LTSB in drag or not it's damn well LTSB !!
Complaint to the information commisioner on its way !!
The letters look for all intents and purposes to be from external DCA's
Complaint to the OFT being formulated for not trading in an open and honest manner.
(Could do with some help here)
Now what else is there ?
What about the debt collection code of conduct ?
Isn't there something about not threatening vulnerable people in there that I can use ?
Banking code, right to privacy for a start, what else ?
Internal LTSB complaint due to breach of their own privacy rules
(Already sent)
And finally (unless you have better suggestions)
How about a police complaint for harrasment ?
Anyone tried that one yet ?:rotfl:
We've got the telephone act and the harrasment act to use.......
All suggestions welcomed

Sorry but I think you are in the wrong here.
You say that you have written to LTSB - what did this letter say?
Did it say that you only want to deal with this in writing or did you say that they should no longer phone. Sorry but if it is the latter and they have not agreed to your token payments they have the right to phone as long as the debt is in dispute.
Banking code right to privacy - what is all this about? Could they not argue that they have a right to repayment?
Police complaint for harassment? - Do me a favour they will do you for wasting police time.
#Whilst I feel for you and what your wife has tried to do you need proper financial advice speak to the CAB or a national debt counsellor - what you are trying to do is only making things worse. Good luck.0 -
And that was the short version?
Why haven't you changed your phone number? Unless these people are coming after your property (house owner) ignore them.0 -
Ok the claws are out I see, what you need todo is send all letters by recorded delivery. Be nice and polite in your letters as if not to be honest they would end up in the bin. Explain your issues and show them an income and expenditure form. It maybe worth speaking to debt line for advice. It wont go away, so you need to see a way to move forward.0

Done, Done, Done oh and done.
Letter removing their right to use my phone number (due to mental state of my wife) sent in december.
Send recorded and recieved in december
No phone calls from LTSB recieved since (They were daily)
Why ?
Simple, without permission they are breaking the law..........
Every time ive recieved a letter it's been replied too and had a SOA enclosed, they know the story only to well and each letter has been more than polite.
So far zero replies...........
Complete brick wall
As for the police, look at the law.
Told to not contact by phone.
Contact continues
Contact causes "alarm or distress"
Call constitutes HARASSMENT.
Just because it's a bank, just because you owe them money doesn't give them a "right"
Would you say that if it was bailiffs ?
If anyone else thinks I'm an idiot, fine.
But Capital one have been great, all sorted with them @ £10 PM so i can't be a total moron
Unlike the staff at LTSB.........Currently keeping my head above water and learning to swim.

Hi
Not to say you won't get the advise you want here, but have you tried Consumer Action Group forums? You'll get help and template letters aplenty there.

Give it a try if you haven't already.

LOL, cheers UnderGround.
I'm about to, but since I'm a reluctant militant I thought I'd temper my approach by coming here first.
I do actually intend to pay what my wife owes in full, all i need is a breather.
If only LTSB weren't stonewalling me eh !
Bad move to push me too far, I've fought for their rights so I'll certainly fight for mine..............Currently keeping my head above water and learning to swim.
