Non delivery of Argos Cabinet

Advice on what to do here please :-

Ordered Argos Cabinet through Online.

Delivery stated as Thursday last week 8am - 1pm. Day off work taken but no delivery within times.

Waited til 3pm and rang Customer services. Was told Delivery had been made at 10.30 but apparently i wasn't in !!. Confirmation (on screen) that it had been delivered to my neighbours at number 4.

Told the Cust Serv that was unlikely as

a) I was in and waiting - No Lorry all morning
b) My neighbours are currently away on 2 week annual. ( i am currently looking after matters for them)

Argos Cust Serv initially said i was wrong !! then gave me a surname with whom the driver had left my order. A local Electorial Search showed people with the given surname at no4, but a few roads away. They appear to have gone away for weekend (or longer) as no response when i knock.

Returning to Argos they state the order was delivered and are reluctant to do more. Having pushed they have reluctantly agreed to ask the driver to return to where he dropped off and, if wrong, pick it up and deliver to me. However I am told this will be anytime he can fit it in, within a further 2 weeks.

When i have asked that they supply another one and get the driver to rectify his error and return the picked up cabinet to them, they agreed.....but apparently are now out of stock.

I have been debited.

Please suggest how i can impress upon Argos Cust Services my rights as they have taken my money, the cabinet is too large for me to collect (if the people in no4 have it), and i do not have the cabinet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ask them for proof of delivery/signature. They will be unable to do so. Keep on at them as the driver has clearly delivered the item to the wrong address. If nothing happens, contact your credit card provider and ask for a chargeback. Forget this guff about the driver checking the address to which he delivered - he will have the attention span of a goldfish and will already not only have forgotten where he delivered the item but also his own name and date of birth.

They have screwed up but it's clearly easier for whomsoever deals with this sort of thing to blame you

    lmaooo

I'd have sympathy, if I hadn't been blamed for taking a delivery from a company, which then arrived a few mins after my boss complained about it not arriving, and him being told I'd signed for it.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
