IVA Query

Hi Everyone

I hopw you can help, I entered an IVA three years ago and two years to go before I'm debt free.

My concern is whether I have been 'mis-sold' an IVA as at the time I lived with my parents ( I now live in private rented house) and had no belongings of any value and whilst reading a few of the previous posts it would appear I have been 'mis-sold' it.

Can anyone put my mind at rest on this? Also I have approx £5K to pay over the next two years, what would be a fair offer for final early settlement?

Thanks in advance

You are more than half way through with just £5000 left to pay - have you had any cause to regret going with the company you chose? Reading other posts as a guide I would think you could offer say £2000 - £3000 and see if they would accept that - if not then no harm done, carry on with the IVA and try another offer a few months down the line.

    Thanks for the reply

No theres nothing particular to make me regret going with the company I did, in fact they are more than helpful with every email I send with questions!

I read a few threads on here a few months ago as I was looking to decrease my monthly payments due to living in rented accomodation etc and I read that after the IVA was completed there was a request for more money but maybe this was because they had secure debts or had their own home etc.

I think I'll make an offer of £2.5k and see what they say, my parents are lending me the money which will make my life so much easier!!
