Fitting security light

Evenin everyone...

At the side of my house I have an enclosed alley and Thursday night I had someone try and break through the gate into the alleyway so I want to put a security light in there.

I already have a light in there but its just a general light so you can see what you're doing rather than security.

If I buy a security light, is it just a straight swap for the current light or will it be more complex?

You can get outside lights with PIR motion dectors built in (I have one on my side).

I guess you can take the old one off & put this one on.

Yep. Straight swap. Make sure you switch the power supply off before installing the new security light.
