London Congestion Charge query

We will be driving into London soon to help our son move house. He is moving into an area where we know we will have to pay the CC. What we are struggling to find out is do you pay £8 per day or £8 per journey i.e. each time you go in and out of the congestion zone for multiple journeys on the same day. We just want to be clear about what our costs are likely to be.

£8 a day, whether for one trip or 100.

I'm pretty sure it's one charge per day - but like you I'm finding it difficult to verify that 100%

agrees with me but the official tfl site doesn't really address the subject from that aspect

From the leaflet on the tfl congestion charging website:
This is an £8 daily charge for driving or parking a vehicle on public roads within the Congestion Charging zone,
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

    Definately one charge per day

Where is he moving to? Are you sure it is in the charging zone?

If you can arrive before the start time, park off street, and depart after the stop time, then you needn't pay of course.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

It is definitely in the charging zone.
  • £8 per day, not per journey.
