Advice needed - Removing ORANGE from our new home's landline

ooo...just looked on BT Directory Enquiries and the previous occupant at my house is listed with the telephone number i gave to Orange and that is currently in use still at the house. So to me, and i'm not an expert, surely this shows that the number haasn't changed....???0

You may not be able to call BT on 150 but you can certainly call them on 0800 800 150.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Yes, i've already called BT using the 0800 number. If my stinking landline wasn't with Orange i'd be able to dial 150 directly - it won't allow me to currently.
Looks like i will just have to wait until the 18th Aug before i'm connected to BT then Bring on the Broadband !! 6 days and counting......0 -
Finally had an email response from Orange acknowledging the fact that my landline is indeed one of theirs and they can see that there was a request on the system to deactivate the line from 6th August but for some reason it has not been completed!!! Tell me about it!!
they are going to 'escalate' the issue apparently and get it sorted! Nice work Orange - BT will be manually overriding the line tomorrow anyway!!!
aaarrggghhhhhh
Once BT do their bit tomorrow it'll take another 5 days to get up and running on Broadband apparently...... booo hoooo0 -
