Virgin Media phone bills - what they don't tell you...

Hi, I have a Virgin Media cable package for phone line b'band and TV, which includes normal calls "Anytime". All well and good you may say but my monthly bill only shows the calls for which I have been charged - it DOESNT show the number or length of the calls for which I have not been charged.

I think Virgin are charging me about £6-£7 for the "anytime" i.e. "free" calls. So, how do I know if the "free Anytime calls are worth it if Virgin Media refuse to tell me how many "free" calls I've actually made? When I was with BT a few years ago, their billing showed ALL calls, chargeable or not.

So what am I supposed to do? Make a note of all "free" calls and work it out for myself, especially as Virgin Media very cleverly make it very hard to work out what you are being charged/minute - they have two separate long confusing pdf documents on their website.

I requested a FULL itemised bill as per The Data Protection Act 1988 but they havent replied yet.

Your probaly paying them about £95 a year for the priviledge, and on top of that you have to pay their expensive NGN, and Mobile Rates.

Consider using 18185 via their 0808 freephone number for some of your calls.

VM never want you to be able to work out what you are paying otherwise you would realise what a sorry deal you are getting. Even when you are charged for a call I think (I stand to be corrected) that they do not itemise calls that cost less than a certain amount.

We should remember that at VM results presentations VM say that there phone service is their cash cow, which is why you are almost forced to take it and if you don't they charge more for the other services. Cash cows are rarely good for the consumer and VM's uncompetitive charges seem to prove it .
