ASDA grocery delivery

well, i had my first online delivery of groceries from asda today and boy - i am really impressed. At this point i should say that i have had online grocery deliveries from tesco and sainsbury's before and while i have got no cause for complaint - asda's service has, in my opinion beaten them hands down.
Firstly, the delivery man was lovely - he arrived five minutes into the two hour time slot, was polite, friendly and apologised that there had to be some substitutions.
Secondly, when i looked at the substiutions, basically, the items i had ordered had been replaced by more expensive versions - but asda had price matched - so my fish at £2.18 was only charged at £1.64 as that is the price of the lower value item i had originally ordered. I have to say i was most pleased as the other supermarkets do not appear to operate this policy.
Additionally, the standard of the fruit and veg is excellent - with long use by dates and of good quality.
Finally, i even saved money as i used a voucher from the asda thread on here - i feel that i have got great value for money and really excellent service.
thanks asda

I like ASDA home delivery too. The only trouble I have is that my delivery man is deaf and insists on holding a conversation with me, which I have real trouble in understanding. I do try my best with him as he is lovely but I feel embarrassed that I can't get what he is saying most of the time.0

My wife was alone to receive the goods.
The guy bullied her not to check the list
She said she will
The guy insisted and was bullying her saying he has something else to do
I did intervene and ask him to shut up or take all away back to the store if he is not happy with us checking
He disappeared with the van
They are errors
I rang asda, they have nothing to say only they apologise???
But the error is still here
I try to find an email, but zilch! they hide... lol
Now I have to write and ask them to be out of their list
And tell them they have lost a client
They are many good shops with nice delivery people
ASDA is not very serious and too much FRAUDULENT with their accomplice the delivery boy
Nice game, but not for me
A VERY dissatisfied client from Tolworth0 -
Acutally Asda On-line is much better than Tesco. It is nice of them to price match any thing they send they are out of stock. Like all deliveries not just grocery you should check they are all there before you sign for it. I have never had any Asda items missing but did once have Tesco miss some items. I rang them up and they refunded it straight away with no bother.0

Does this post actually make much sense to anyone else?If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I have been having Asda home delivery for over a year and TBH it's a very hit and miss service.
Yes they do price match items BUT they are crafty with some of the substitutions for multibuys so you end up paying more sometimes.
There have also been more than 5 occasions where many of my items had been left in the van and not delivered so I've had to go through the hassle of having to ring up the local depot to get them to redeliver.
I've had many problems with items arriving damaged (tins dented, eggs smashed etc).
The other main annoyance with Asda home delivery is that they don't stick to the time slot that you've booked. My shopping turned up 2 hours early last week and is regularly up to an hour too early or too late
Tesco service is much better but they don't price match the subs so I tend to stick to Asda. The items I buy are much cheaper from Asda than elsewhere anyway. Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

How could you intervene if your wife was alone?0 -
Tesco have started to price match now, but I don't know if it just a temporary thing.
I used Asda once but the delivery never arrived and the call centre staff were very rude to me, and really didn't care.
Ocado are the best, always on time, hardly any subs, friendly delivery staff, but they are more expensive.0 -
i followed tolworths post, they are a disgruntled customer possibly, setting up a new profile to attack asda.
