Capital One advice needed

Hi everyone. I'm trying to reclaim charges from a Capital One card I got in 2001 and need a bit of advice on what to claim for. Basically over the 4 years I had the card they charged me just over £1000 in Late Payment Fees and Over limit fees, thing is I only ever spend a total of £244.91 on the card and ended up paying back £600.09 all together. If anyone could let me know what exactly I can claim back I'd be grateful. I got them to send me a complete list of all charges but there is a strange gap of 3 years in it where my balance goes down from £922.87 to £632.87. They say that they have sent me everything but surely something happened in those 3 years. Also could anyone let me know if Debt Collection Agencies can chase me up for the card charges too. Thanks :)
