For legoland itself, I would if possible take a picnic - none of the food places are particularly wonderful, they are all a bit on the expensive side but also in the summer they are mobbed out by everyone else in legoland who did not remember to buy a picnic. There is a kids adventure playground where it is nice to eat.

Windsor is close by and there are masses of places there (make sure you take some 2 for 1 vouchers :D) - though the one-way system always defeats me. I cant think of any pubs close to legoland itself - there is a Toby or beefeater in Old Windsor and a harvester there too. You might find somewhere in Eton too.

We always go to the Harvester, it's about 20 miles away and quite rural, sorry can't remember what it's called.

The food in Legoland is terribly expensive, London tourist prices and some!!

    Hi

I chose to go to legoland for my birthday this year (for the kids of course). I suggested taking a picnic but my other half insisted he would treat us when there as another birthday treat.

The food wasn't great and it was overpriced for something none of us enjoyed. We didn't want to go out of the park as there was so much to see and do in a day, we will go again but next time we'll take a pack lunch.

Oh and take swimming bits and a towel for the kids, I didn't know there was a mini water park for the kids and my little un's were running around in their knickers.

There is a two Wetherspoons in Windsor. Always nice and cheap.

There are lots of chain restaurants so as others have mentioned bring the two for one vouchers.
  • We were at Legoland last week. We stayed at the Marriott in Slough, the one near the M4, and there is a Harvester just round the corner. The food was fab, much better that I remember at previous visits to Harvesters years ago. We got there quite early, around 6ish, and were able to choose from the early menu. I have gammon steak with double eggs and chips for £4.99 and OH had mixed grill for £5.99. The kids meals were about a fiver each too.

Thanks for this, I was debating just taking a smal; picnic. My OH got a good deal for 2 days in the park and a hotel near heathrow on the sat night ... we drive down from near Newcastle on saturday morning. I think I will not make up a box of sandwiches to just keep us going and we will properly eat on the Sat evening for tea.

Thankyou also to you for the above. something you would never imagine to take unless you had been there before and knew about it. I shall also pack kids swim stuff.
