Benefits of Amazon over ebay?

  • I'd go Play.com rather than Amazon myself, mainly as you tend to be able to make more money - their prices are normally a lot higher than Amazon's, although you don't get extra on top for postage. But my rationale is that I use readitswapit (see below) and if I can get rid of the books whilst making a few pennies, considering I'd have paid to post them anyway, I may as well do it.

If you've got loads of popular books I'd also think about putting them on readitswapit.co.uk - basically you list any books you want to get rid of, other users request to swap books with you, you choose a book from their list of books they want to swap and send them to each other. For the cost of second class postage it isn't bad at all.

I used to love readitswapit, but I think it's a bit of an expensive way to get books. I went to a boot sale yesterday and got 17 books for £5.10, a lot less than the postage would have been for risi. Charity shops are cheaper too. It's ok if you're looking for a specific book that's popular, but if it's a bit obscure then you usually have to go to to ebay or amazon anyway.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
