I'd suggest not going to the VW dealer, as they will be pricey, but looking for a Skoda dealer if there is one.
I have an "old style" (2004) Toledo and will be doing some calling around to find the best price for a service in a couple of months. I know the VW garage near me charges over £100/hour for labour as I used to have a Passat.
PS - you really like the look of the new Toledo? I've never come across anyone yet that does! Altea looks a lot nicer.0 -
thanks nej but will vw/skoda carry out warranty repairs?
I like the Toledo compared to a Vectra which is another on my shopping list. Must admit the Altea is the nicer looking car but the Toledo offers a bigger boot and as I won't be driving it much, it's the practicality that counts.0 -
Most car dealers offer a free pick-up & drop-off service. Now if the nearest Seat dealer is an hour away, they should happily come and collect the car as that is the nearest dealer. If you are offering them business, thats the least they should do.
A few years ago when I had a BMW, the dealers used to compete with each other and offer me great incentives to get the business. I remember booking the car at my local dealer who offered to come and pick up the car and return it. On calling the next furthest dealer, they said they would pick up the car and also offer me a 3-series courtesy car too while the car was beign serviced. When I told the local dealer about the offer, they said they woudl match the offer but give me a Z3 courtesy car!!If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0 -

Under recent legislation dealers are not allowed to insist that you return cars to them for warranty/servicing work. You can get the work done at any garage (I assume it had to be VAT registered or something), but the dealer will probably make certain conditions, like using genuine Seat parts etc0
