Small Victory

A vending machine stole £3 from me so I wrote to complain.

I wouldnt normally dream of complaining but I was having a bad day and I remembered the suppliers name and looked it up on the internet when I got home at night

1 email and 1 week later and theyve sent £5 voucher for soft drinks that can be used in any supermarket.

Result :D

I use to service vending machines and a bent coin or a coin from a different currency often use to block the coin slot and you would open it up and about £5-£10 in coins would fall out. I use to leave the money stuck in the machine at reception and everyone knew they just needed to say they lost money in the machine and it would be refunded from that. Anyway I use to collect it all 14 days later and it was very rare anyone would claim any money. People seem to accept losses in a vending machine unlike they do in a shop.

Last time I lost money in a machine (train station) the only way you could arrange to be refunded was by ringing an 0870 number.

No doubt this puts plenty of people off. Bravo, nice money-saving strategy.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
