hi everyone, this is our first post so apologies straight away if it's in the wrong place! We bought a kodak all in one printer from comet 6 weeks ago(paid on switch debit card). We got a paper jam and after clearing out all the torn paper we could see the machine still says paper jam. We went onto kodaks online support and chatted live to an operator who gave us a number of instructions to clear the jam but still couldn't do it. They advised us to take it back to the shop or otherwise they gave us a number to contact kodak. Firstly we rung comet, they told us it was kodaks problem and gave us a number for them also. I rung kodak and whilst talking to them(3 different operators) they hung up on me 3 times. Basically,in between the hanging up they tried to help me clear the jam(to no avail), they took my details and gave me a reference number, one of them told me it was comets problem, take it back there and one of them told me they could send me out a printer but it would be a refurbished one. I've only had it for 6 weeks, surely i get some kind of basic guarantee for 12 months? Help anyone! i also warn fellow forumites to stay well away from comet and kodak!!!

Firstly this needs to be on the "Consumers Rights" board.
Secondly, your complaint is against Comet, under SoGA, not the manufacturer, you have only had it 6 weeks so the burden of proof is on Comet in the first 6 months to disprove it is faulty, not you to prove it is faulty, see What Consumer
Thirdly your credit card does not give you12 months warranty, what it does do is give you the same rights that you have against the retailer against the CC company under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
